An Indiana community is putting its money where its mouth is.
The Madison County Community Foundation has announced the biggest fundraising campaign in its 31-year history in an effort to raise more than $1 million, which will be eligible for nearly $1.7 million in matching funds from the Lilly Endowment, the Indianapolis Star reports.
"Most of this [fundraising] will take place through targeted, personalized conversations," foundation president Ben Davis says.
Most of the money raised will go to the foundation's Community Impact Fund, which awards grants to local nonprofits.
The foundation has already awarded more than $1.3 million in grants this year.
